Aon Risk Solutions appoints China CEO

Aon has appointed a former Swiss Re executive as chief executive officer (CEO) of Aon Benfield Greater China and CEO of Aon Risk Solutions China.

Qin Lu joins from Swiss Re, where he employed as president of China and a member of Swiss Re’s Asia management team.

Lu will report to both Malcolm Steingold, CEO of Asia-Pacific, Aon Benfield, and Sandeep Malik, CEO of Aon Risk Solutions Asia.

Steingold said: “Qin Lu will, as CEO for Aon Benfield Greater China, lead the next phase of our development as a market and thought leader in the Chinese insurance and reinsurance market.

“Our dynamic team provides Qin with a stable and talented platform from which to make further investments aimed at continuing to provide our clients with best-in-class analytics, capital advisory and reinsurance transactional support.”

Malik added: “We are confident that Qin will lead our Greater China insurance and reinsurance business to a new level of performance and drive more synergy between our retail and reinsurance businesses.

“From an Aon Risk Solutions perspective, Qin will be responsible for regional oversight of our China business as we continue to enhance our client capabilities in this growing market.”
