Cayman and Malta sign TIEA

Cayman and Malta have signed a tax information agreement in London as the two build their network of international tax accords.

The TIEAs are part of efforts by both domiciles - which are active in the captive space - to strengthen their global standards on tax transparency.

Commenting on the agreement, Wayne Panton, Cayman's Minister for Financial Services said: “As both Cayman and Malta are (OECD) Global Forum members, we recognise that the exchange of information between countries – or in the case of multilateral agreements, among countries – is a vital cog in the application of globally accepted standards.”

Following the signing of its post recent TIEA, Cayman now has 32 in place.
