Columbia Captive Insurance Council to hold annual conference


The Captive Insurance Council of the District of Columbia (CIC-DC) is holding its annual conference tomorrow (October 21).

The event is being held at the Marriott Marquis Washington DC hotel in the US. It will give delegates a chance to network, as well as take part in a number of educational sessions that are being held through the day.

Topics covered at the event will include the move to generative governance for captive insurance boards, the redomestication of captives to the district of Columbia, how to stay relevant in the industry, cell captives, risk retention group trends. There will also be a domicile update for the district and a capital tax update.

Speakers at the conference include Melissa Hancock, president, CIC-DC; Dan Sheppard, deputy insurance commissioner, DISB, District of Columbia, Sean O'Donnell, director of finance examination, DISB, District of Columbia and John Foehl Jr, president Government Entities Mutual.
