Keynote speaker named for Bermuda Captive Conference
Joe Flower, a well-known author and healthcare and technology futurist, has been announced as the keynote speaker for the upcoming Bermuda Captive Conference (BCC).
Flower is a thought leader on forces changing healthcare in the US and around the world. He has explored the future of healthcare with clients, from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the UK National Health Service to state and provincial hospital associations throughout the US and Canada.
Flower has also been a consultant on change with the US Department of Defense, Airbus, and ArianeSpace.
The annual three-day captive insurance conference will run from 13-15 June, 2016 at the Fairmont Southampton Resort. More than 650 delegates from Bermuda and overseas are expected to attend the event.
A wide spectrum of captive insurance management firms, as well as support industries, are sponsoring the event and healthcare risk management, in particular, is expected to be one of this year's main topics.

Bermuda is home to 800 captive insurance companies, making it the top global captive jurisdiction. These captives mainly support Fortune 500 corporations in the US and generated more than $48 billion in annual gross written premiums in 2014.
According to the Bermuda Business Development Agency, which is promoting the conference, Bermuda-based captives support an estimated 25 percent of the American medical insurance and reinsurance market, and a growing number have originated from Canada and Latin America in recent years.
