SIIA names director of state government relations

The Self Insurance Institute of America (SIIA) has appointed Adam Brackemyre to the newly-created role of director of state government relations. His responsibilities will include the coordination of state-level lobbying efforts and representation of the organisation at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC). He will be based in Washington, DC.

Brackemyre has extensive government relations experience and has worked for organisations including the National Association of Health Underwriters and the Council for Affordable Health Insurance.

SIIA president and CEO Mike Ferguson said: “during 2013, the SIIA made the investment to expand and upgrade its team of federal lobbyists and now we are very pleased to be able to deploy additional capabilities at the state level.”
