VCIA to hold governance webinar

The Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) has announced that it’s holding a webinar on the implementation of governance standards on May 11.

The webinar is aimed at captive board members who want to learn more about their role and responsibilities as they relate to governance standards, as well as consultants trying to help their clients navigate compliance with the recently enacted law establishing governance standards for RRGs.

The panellists include Sandy Bigglestone and Christine Brown from the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation, Les Meredith from Premier Insurance Management Services and Randy Wachsmann from Primmer.

According to the VCIA the webinar will seek to help participants to recognise the various components of the governance standards and how they relate to a director's fiduciary role, identify common concerns and develop strategies for ensuring compliance with the various required policies and procedures, and finally understand what the regulators will be looking for during examinations and surveillance.
