Wilmington Trust hires Wells Fargo exec to boost client development efforts

Wilmington Trust’s Insurance Collateral Solutions Group has appointed Robert Bilodeau as senior relationship manager in its Manhattan office.

He will serve as point person between grantors, beneficiaries, and insurance brokers in the onboarding of new transactions, while also serving as the group’s envoy for ongoing relationships and assisting with client development efforts.

Bilodeau has worked in the insurance and reinsurance trust space for more than a decade, and has extensive experience with insurance related collateral accounts. His international experience includes transactions pertaining to Bermuda, London, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, the Cayman Islands, Guernsey, the Isle of Man, Luxembourg, and Switzerland.

Before joining Wilmington Trust, Bilodeau was relationship and product manager in the corporate trust division at Wells Fargo. Prior to this role, he was team leader in the corporate trust area for Bank of New York, and corporate trust administrator for Citibank.

Bilodeau earned a bachelor’s degree in Business from Fordham University’s College of Business Administration.

“Rob will play a crucial role in trust agreement negotiations, due diligence acquisition, and administration of our client’s transactions,” said Joe Nardi, head of Wilmington Trust’s Capital Markets Structured Finance group. “Combined with the recent hires of Robert Quinn and Todd Winchel, the addition of Rob to the Insurance Collateral Solutions team shows our dedication to the insurance trust market.”

Winchel and Quinn joined Wilmington Trust in November to lead product management and client development efforts in the Insurance Collateral Solutions business respectively.
