ARM recruits Chacosky to actuary network

Actuarial Risk Management (ARM) has announced the addition of Charles Chacosky as managing director consulting actuary.

As a senior member of the ARM network of actuaries, Chacosky will enhance the financial reporting and regulatory compliance capabilities of the firm’s actuarial services, particularly within the life, annuity, long-term care, and reinsurance industries. He will evaluate client needs to develop capital strategies and business objectives to enhance ARM’s services to meet client goals.

ARM said that as an industry leader, Chacosky brings a practical business focus to the impact of financial reporting and capital utilisation on bottom-line results. Throughout his four-decade-long career, Chacosky has served as the appointed actuary for dozens of life insurance companies and captive insurers, including a New York-domiciled company and three captives for year-end 2021. In addition, he has worked as an actuarial consultant to several insurance departments, assisting on companies in receivership, examinations, and Form A filings.

Chacosky is a frequent writer and speaker on current actuarial developments. Most recently, he presented on statutory hot topics at the Society of Actuaries’ (SOA) 2021 Year-End U.S. Statutory Financial Reporting Considerations Webcast. He currently serves as the chairperson of the American Academy of Actuaries’ Life Financial Reporting Committee. In 2022, Chacosky co-authored several papers on US GAAP long duration targeted improvements and will again be presenting at the SOA’s 2022 year-end US statutory financial reporting considerations webcast.

“I’ve known Chuck for 25 years and have been continuously impressed by his capabilities and leadership approach,” said Corwin Zass, principal founder at ARM. “We look forward to leveraging Chuck’s wisdom and experience within our growing global actuarial resource pool of more than 250 credentialed actuaries.”
