BMS taps Tysers for new director in financial lines

Elizabeth Robinson, director - financial lines, BMS

Independent specialist insurance and reinsurance broker BMS has appointed Elizabeth Robinson as a director in financial lines. Starting in July, Robinson will be based in London and report to Chris Madell, managing director of financial and professional lines. She will be responsible for managing BMS’ North American wholesale financial lines strategy.

Robinson joins BMS from broker Tysers, where she spent more than five years, most recently as director of North American executive and financial risks. She managed the company’s growing team and portfolio in directors and officers and financial institutions, primarily in North America and Europe.

She has worked within the insurance industry for over 12 years, beginning her career as a financial lines underwriter at AIG in 2009. She has held a broad range of senior roles in broking and underwriting, including at AXA and independent brokers.

“Liz has a diverse range of experience in our industry, and it’s especially fantastic to be able to welcome such a talented individual to the BMS team, said Madell. “Her deep understanding of the market will be an incredible asset to BMS as we continue to expand our North American wholesale financial lines offering.”

Robinson added: “BMS’ client-centred strategy and demonstrated commitment to innovation and investing in the business has always appealed to me. The financial lines team is brilliant at what they do and working with them feels like a natural cultural fit for me. I look forward to using my expertise and experience to support their continued growth.”
