Mactavish names captive expert as senior adviser

Mactavish, the insurance governance expert, has appointed Malcolm Cutts-Watson as a senior adviser.

Cutts-Watson will deliver expert market knowledge of, and insight into, the captive insurance world. He has spent the majority of his professional career in the captive insurance industry advising captive stakeholders on strategic, operational and governance matters across a broad range of industries and jurisdictions.

The expert also advises governmental and regulatory bodies on legislative and regulatory change.

Cutts-Watson has acted as industry partner to AIRMIC’s Captive Special Interest Group and is a regular contributor to industry debate and is a passionate advocate for the raising of standards in the captive insurance industry.

He commented: “I have long admired the Mactavish goal of raising standards in the insurance industry, something that mirrors my own viewpoint. I look forward to working with the Mactavish team to maximise the value that captives deliver through enhanced and improved governance practices.”

Bruce Hepburn, chief executive officer of Mactavish, added: “We are delighted to have someone of Malcolm’s stature in the captive insurance world join us and we look forward to working with him and our clients in the captive insurance sector.

“This sector is going through much regulatory and legal change and represents an exciting opportunity for us in the area of insurance governance.”
