SRS names Paul Owens to its board

Strategic Risk Solutions has named Paul Owens as the latest addition to its board of directors.

Owens was most recently the CEO of Willis Towers Watson's global captive practice and has over 30 years’ experience in the global insurance sector. He retired from his role at WTW earlier this year.

He is based in the UK and initially focuses on expanding SRS’s operations in Europe and other new regions, while also providing advice on governance, operations and the overall direction of the business.

Brady Young, president and CEO of SRS, said: “We have known Paul for a long time and have tremendous respect for his knowledge of the captive market especially outside North America, which is important to us given our expansion plans in Europe and beyond.”

Owens said it had been a privilege to lead the WTW global captive practice, but having retired from that role he wanted to put his experience to use. “I had great respect for SRS as a competitor and have been impressed with how SRS has developed into a very strong independent captive manager and a viable alternative to the broker owned managers,” he added.
