Alabama Captive Association unveils board of directors


The Alabama Captive Association has revealed its new board of directors ahead of its annual conference, to be held September 18-19.

Among the new board members are Norman Chandler, Marc Escalona, Keith Fawcett, Doranne Newton, Jeff Pettus, Greg Price, David Smith, David Stegall and Terry Young.

Chandler has over 15 years’ experience in directing auditing, accounting, compliance and taxation engagements, and is partner with TaylorChandler CPASs and founding partner of Arsenal Insurance Management.

Escalona is in the alternative insurance division and develops the captive practice at Cobbs Allen.

Fawcett has over 30 years of experience in commercial insurance reinsurance business, and is the president of Brentwood Reinsurance Intermediaries and executive vice president of Brentwood Services Administrators. He began his career as a Lloyd's broker in London.

Newton is the underwriting manager for Alabama Municipal Insurance Corporation, and has more than 30 years of combined experience in the insurance industry and serves as a board member for various captive insurance companies in Alabama.

Pettus is the president and CEO of Brentwood Services Administrators. He joined in 1998 as a manager of finance and accounting.

Price is the chief technology and security officer for Troy University and the director of the Alabama Digital Forensics Institute.

Smith is a shareholder and member of the taxation and business organisation and transactions practice groups of Gilpin Givhan.

Stegall is both the principal consultant and founder of Risk Consulting & Expert Services.

Young is the president of Millennium Risk Managers. In the past 30 years, he has been a partner in several organisations focusing in the insurance and risk management industry.

The Alabama Captive Association's conference will be held at Hyatt Regency Birmingham, The Wynfrey Hotel, with more details to follow.
