IoM launches digital marketing campaign for its captives sector

Finance Isle of Man, the agency dedicated to developing the island’s financial services sector, has launched a digital marketing campaign to promote its  captive insurance offering.

The campaign highlights the benefits of establishing a captive on the Isle of Man (IoM), emphasising its regulatory and legal infrastructure, which has specifically designed governance rules for captive insurance companies.

The IoM also stressed the benefits of the collaborative relationship that exists between its government, regulator and industry, which enables the sector to quickly adapt to the needs of businesses on the island.

IoM is home to more than 100 captive insurance companies and companies that offer them services, including banks and professional services networks.

Simon Pickering, head of insurance and pensions at Finance Isle of Man, said: “Insurance is an important part of our vibrant financial services industry, which is the single largest financial services sector on the IoM, contributing 19.2 percent to the GDP.”

The campaign includes a new website, video content and ads on LinkedIn, Google and YouTube, as well as video content. A webinar or virtual roundtable-style event on topical themes is planned for later in 2021.

Nick Gale, chair of the Isle of Man Captive Association, said: “We have a positive outlook for the IoM’s captive insurance sector as we are seeing a huge amount of interest and a very promising pipeline, driven by the significant hardening of the conventional insurance market.”
