James Bulkowski is senior manager in the insurance and actuarial advisory services practice of Ernst & Young’s financial services office, specialising in property and casualty consulting, with a focus on captive insurance companies. He has over 20 years of experience, and previously held the role of senior vice president at one of the major insurance brokerage firms specialising in large account relationship management, brokerage, and alternative risk transfer vehicles.

Al Rhodes spent over 20 years in the actuarial profession and is the president and senior actuary of SIGMA Actuarial Consulting Group, located in Nashville. His professional designations include associate of the CAS and member of the AAA. He founded SIGMA to provide casualty actuarial consulting services to risk managers, brokers, risk management consultants, TPAs and CPAs, and is experienced in the process of developing both traditional and alternative insurance programmes for entities of all sizes and types.

Mike Serricchio is a managing director in Marsh’s captive advisory group, working in Connecticut. He assists clients with the feasibility and organisation of single parent captives, risk retention groups and rent-a-captives. He also participates in captive strategic reviews for clients that already have captives. He is frequently involved with reviewing M&A transactions where there are one or more captive subsidiaries, and provides advisory services on issues such as capitalisation levels, new coverages, tax concepts, captive investment opportunities and cost-savings.
