Beaupérin to step down from FERMA positions
The Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA) has announced that Typhaine Beaupérin (pictured) will step down from her roles as chief executive and secretary general of the Federation in June.
Beaupérin assumed the role of chief executive in December 2015 and was appointed secretary general in 2019. FERMAA said that during her tenure she has played a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the organisation, championing the interests of FERMA’s member associations at the EU and international levels, and elevating the profile of the risk management profession.
As chief executive, she significantly enhanced FERMA’s advocacy capacity and strengthened its voice within EU institutions, helping to embed a risk management-based approach into key pieces of legislation introduced in recent years. She also led the development of FERMA’s EU Policy Manifestos, setting out the Federation’s priorities for EU policymakers.
FERMA added that Beaupérin has fostered greater collaboration across the risk management community, expanded FERMA’s networking capabilities, and encouraged deeper member engagement. Her impact was clearly demonstrated at the recent FERMA Forum in Madrid, which drew over 3,000 attendees, as well as in the transformation of the FERMA Risk Manager Survey from a European to a global initiative.
FERMA has now begun its succession planning and will announce the appointment of a new chief executive in due course. A new secretary general will also be appointed.
Charlotte Hedemark, President of FERMA, commented: “We are truly grateful to Typhaine for her constant commitment to FERMA's mission of representing the European risk management community. Over the past nine years, she has worked tirelessly to advance our strategic goals, enhance our EU influence, grow our network, and shape FERMA into the agile, forward-thinking organisation it is today.
“Looking ahead, FERMA’s ability to empower and connect its members and to extend its influence is stronger than ever, and our commitment to their interests remains steadfast. Our next CEO will take the helm of a Federation with clear strategic direction, a strong EU presence, and a firm mandate from its member associations.”
Beaupérin added: “FERMA’s mission has always been to raise the visibility and influence of the risk management profession. It has been an honour to contribute to this mission working alongside an exceptional team and to represent the risk management community on both EU and global stages.
“I would like to thank the FERMA Board for their tremendous support throughout my tenure, as well as the member associations themselves. I am especially grateful to the Presidents I’ve worked with—Charlotte Hedemark, Dirk Wegener, and Jo Willaert—as well as former Secretary General Gilbert Canameras, who have all been invaluable mentors. I look forward to watching FERMA continue to strengthen its voice and empower the profession.”
