Nevada

Currently, Nevada has 155 licensed captive insurers. Nevada is proud to be one of the country's oldest captive domiciles and one of the most business-friendly states in the nation. Nevada has been an attractive captive domicile for many reasons. Among those is its tax structure. There are no personal or corporate income taxes. Nevada also offers low application expenses, a fair and consistent regulatory environment, and a knowledgeable and accessible staff dedicated to providing prompt and professional service to all our captive industry partners. In recent years, Nevada has seen growth in captive utilization by important new segments of our state and national economy, e.g. cannabis, and strives to support healthy risk alternative programs.
