Acrisure Re bolsters corporate advisory and solutions team

Fintech insurance broker Acrisure’s reinsurance business has announced four appointments to its corporate advisory and solutions division (ARCAS).

They include Acrisure Re’s first head of capital markets, Nick Godfrey, who will be responsible for capital raising activities across ILS, funds at Lloyd’s and supporting M&A and other balance sheet engineering activities. He joins after a 25-year career that saw him cofound the reinsurance proprietary investment arm of BTG Pactual, which acquired Ariel Re. More recently, he was a senior advisor at Barbican and Arch Re.

He’ll be joined by a number of other industry veterans.

Jonathan Zisaruk joins as head of legacy from Enstar, where he was head of M&A and executive vice president. At Enstar, he participated in more than 40 successful transactions involving over $10 billion of reserves, including deals in the US, UK, Lloyd’s, Bermuda, Europe and Australia. At Acrisure Re, he will lead all types of legacy transactions, from structured adverse development covers to more classical loss portfolio transfers.

Lauren Johnson, meanwhile, is the business’s new vice president of corporate advisory and solutions. She joins from Securis Investment Partners, where she was the head of Lloyd’s and specialty analysis. Johnson will run the execution process across strategic advisory, capital raising, legacy solutions and M&A.

Finally, Nick Triggs joins as a non-executive board member and senior advisor for corporate advisory and solutions. With 30 years of experience, Triggs has closed around 140 M&A, equity and debt capital raising deals.

All four will report to managing director Ben Canagaretna.

Canagaretna said: “I am delighted to welcome Nick, Jonathan and Lauren to the ARCAS team, as well as Nick Triggs to our advisory board. They are a testament to our focus on investing in talent, and their extensive knowledge of the capital markets, strong analytical expertise and vast network of long-standing relationships will contribute toward our position as a trusted advisor for our clients. I look forward to working with them and growing as a team.”

Beach & Associates was rebranded as Acrisure Re late last year, following its acquisition by the broker in 2018.
