AIRROC to host online events on legacy and IBT

AIRROC will host two virtual events in February looking at legacy deals and insurance business transfers (IBT), respectively.

AIRROC’s NextGen Task Force has partnered with the deals team at PwC to present an overview of activity in the legacy deal space, which has been busy despite the challenges presented by COVID-19.

The event is taking place on February 3, 2021, and will look at how many transactions occurred in 2020 compared to previous years and trends that can be observed in the deals that did happen.

The session will also discuss expectations for what might happen in the legacy space later in 2021.

On February 10 AIRROC will also present a half day virtual workshop focusing on IBT. Q3 2020 saw the first transaction under the Oklahoma IBT law. This workshop will include speakers from the regulatory, business, and supporting counsel communities to discuss issues around IBTs.

Three sessions will delve into the background on the states that have enacted IBT or division statutes and the differences and similarities between them, including an update from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.
