AM Best to talk on captives at RISKWORLD

AM Best will deliver a session focused on captives at the RIMS 2022 Annual Conference and Exhibition, it has revealed.

Presenting and exhibiting at the  RISKWORLD conference, the company’s associate director Dan Teclaw will lead a session on 11 April titled “Think Like a Captive: Innovative Solutions Continue to Prevail.”

He will explore how captive insurance has responded to COVID-19, social inflation, climate risk, secondary catastrophe perils and regulatory demands. Teclaw will also discuss innovations in products and processes for single parent and group captives created in response to these evolving market challenges.

It will be one of two sessions presented by AM Best at the conference, with Ann Modica, associate director, credit rating criteria, industry research and analytics, talking on country risk in emerging markets the following day. That session explores the economic, political and financial risks that require analysis and how these may have changed for emerging economies in the wake of the pandemic.
