Anson Aguiar named as CUO of Pallas Re

Compre, the independent specialist legacy acquirer, has appointed Anson Aguiar as chief underwriting officer of Pallas Reinsurance Company, its recently-launched class 3A Bermudian reinsurer.

Aguiar joins Pallas Re from Randall & Quilter Investment Holdings, where he served as senior vice president of legacy M&A. He brings fourteen years’ experience in the US casualty market, having spent much of his career at AIG.

At Compre he has a mandate to grow its North American legacy business.

The news comes as Compre completed its first US transaction, specific details of which have not been disclosed. Compre said the transaction involves a ground-up loss portfolio transfer for risks underwritten in the last two years.

Tiger Risk was the broker on the transaction, while Compre was advised by New York law firm Gerber Ciano Kelly Brady and PwC.

Will Bridger, chief executive at Compre, said: “We are extremely well positioned to continue to grow our North American business at an exciting time for the market.”
