BIMA names SRS' Richmond as president


The Bermuda Insurance Managers Association (BIMA), the organisation dedicated to promoting Bermuda as a captive jurisdiction, has appointed Grainne Richmond as president.

Richmond is vice president at Strategic Risk Solutions (SRS) and will take up her position at the volunteer non-profit organisation on March 1, 2021. She previously held the position of BIMA president from 2016 to 2018.

She has 20 years of experience in insurance management, serving clients in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands. She joined SRS in October 2020 when it acquired Dyna Management Services. Prior to joining Dyna she was vice president of Artex Risk Solutions in Bermuda.

Richmond is also a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ireland) and a member of the International Center for Captive Insurance Education. She is a director of WeSpeak Bermuda and a member of the Institute of Directors in Bermuda.

Richmond will be joined by Aon’s Alicia Skeete and Artex’s William Wood as vice presidents and Marsh’s Nicola Hallett as treasurer. Katie Kelly from PWC is secretary and Kathleen Bibbings, a past president, complete BIMA’s executive team for the 2021-2023 term.

Richmond said: “While the market continues to demonstrate its resilience and relevance, our clients’ risk management needs are experiencing profound shifts, prompted by the ongoing impact of a global pandemic as well as new and emerging risks.”
