Cayman veteran joins investment managers Bias

James Rawcliffe has started work for Bias Cayman as a consultant.

The former vice president of Horseshoe Services joined the investment management company last month on a part-time basis.

Rawcliffe has 20 years’ captive industry experience – 16 of them in the Cayman Islands. He left Horseshoe at the end of July, after more than six years managing a portfolio of class B and C insurance companies in Cayman and providing accounting support to special purpose insurers based in Bermuda.

Before that, he spent over a decade as vice president of Sagicor Insurance Managers (formerly the Cayman National Insurance Managers), the last six as its head of practice. He started his career in the Caymans with Global Captive Management, moving from Bermuda, where he worked for Marsh Management Services.

Bias was established in Bermuda in 1991 as an investment company providing services to Bermuda-based companies, captive insurers, trusts, and private clients. BIAS Cayman was established in 2004 to offer the same services on the islands. Its Global Portfolios SPC mutual funds were founded in the Cayman Islands and listed on the Cayman Stock Exchange two years later.
