CICA board chair steps down

Board chair of the Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA), Joel Chansky, will be stepping down from his position as his term ends on Wednesday, March 13, 2019.

Chansky is also principal and consulting actuary at Milliman, based in its Boston office. He has an extensive career specialising in alternative risk transfer industry, and has assisted in the formation of captives and risk retention groups, along with their ongoing actuarial needs. He joined the firm in 1987.

He is a frequent speaker on captives, RRGs and alternative risk financing.

Along with being a board member of CICA, Chansky is a faculty member of the International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE) and a former board member of the National Risk Retention Association, the Arizona Captive Insurance Association, and that Captive Insurance Council of the District of Columbia.

“It is truly an honour to service this great organisation,” said Chansky, speaking at the general opening session of CICA’s annual conference.
