Google names head of insurance business, plots domination of insurance transformation

Google has named Nigel Walsh as head of its insurance business in North America.

Walsh joins from Deloitte where he was a partner involved in digital, insurtech and technology transformation. He is also the former co-host of the InsurTech Insider podcast and has written a number of books about artificial intelligence and insurtech.

At Google Walsh works in a team that includes Henna Karna, Derek White, Reed Overby and Erin Williams.

“There has never been a better time to enable an industry drive change, making Google the number one destination for insurance transformation over the next next decade,” said Walsh in a post on LinkedIn. “In an industry where we manufacture nothing but data, no point being anywhere but the undisputed industry leader.”
