Guy Carpenter reinvigorates and reshuffles its global cyber team

Guy Carpenter & Company has made a number of appointments to strengthen its global cyber offering as part of a reorganisation of the business under the leadership of two co-heads based in London and New York.

Anthony Cordonnier joins Guy Carpenter as managing director and global co-head of cyber, with Erica Davis promoted to serve as global co-head of cyber beside him. These appointments are supported by Jess Fung and Rebecca Ruddy.

Cordonnier joins from Swiss Re where he was most recently director and head of the reinsurance cyber center, responsible for building the portfolio and overseeing global underwriting activities. He also serves as chair of the International Underwriting Association’s cyber reinsurance committee.

Cordonnier will take up his post in the second half of 2021, and will be based in London, reporting to James Boyce, Guy Carpenter’s chief executive officer of global specialties.

Davis joined Guy Carpenter in 2018 and was most recently managing director and leader of the North America cyber center of excellence. She has over 20 years of experience in the cyber re/insurance market and has helped develop Guy Carpenter’s strategic approach in the sector.

She assumes her new position immediately and is based in New York, reporting to Will Garland, president of centers of excellence, North America.

Fung joins as managing director and North American cyber analytics lead. She was formerly executive vice president at Willis Re, leading its US West Coast actuarial team, and head of analytics for the professional liability and global cyber businesses.

Ruddy joins as senior vice president in the North America cyber team. She joins from Aon Reinsurance Solutions, where she was a director and reinsurance treaty broker, and a member of the global cyber practice group.

Boyce said appointing global co-heads of cyber will bring the business’ cyber capabilities together in a single, globally unified team and enhance its offering for clients.

Garland added: “The speed at which the cyber threat landscape is developing demands the highest level of knowledge and experience to ensure that risk transfer solutions are evolving at pace.”
