Nevada insurance commissioner steps down

Scott Kipper, Nevada’s insurance commissioner, has revealed that he will step down in July.

Kipper was reappointed on October, 2011 after serving as Nevada’s commissioner from December 2008 to June 2010.

He served on the executive committee at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and on the federal advisory committee on insurance at the US Department of Treasury.

Prior to this, Kipper served as the deputy commissioner in charge of the Office of Health Insurance for the Louisiana Department of Insurance, and chief executive officer (CEO) of the State of Louisiana Office of Group Benefits.

“It has been an honour to have served the State of Nevada as commissioner. I am proud of the Division’s accomplishments,” said Kipper. “I am certain that the division of insurance will continue to serve the consumers, protecting the rights of all Nevadans as we regulate the $12 billion dollar insurance industry.”
