New appointments at captive specialists

North Carolina-based Truist Insurance McGriff has made two new appointments to its leadership team. Read Davis has been named CEO of specialty and mid-market, while Renee Keen heads up its small business and personal lines business.

McGriff, which operates with more than 120 agencies across the country, is a specialist in alternative risk transfer and last year launched a new group captive practice to target the mid-market, led by Steve Aldrich, national practices managing director.

Meanwhile, Artex Risk Solutions has appointed Ollie McKenzie as executive team manager in its Guernsey office. McKenzie joined Artex in 2017 as a client insurance assistant.

His appointment follows several senior hires at Artex this year, including the appointment of Willis Towers Watson veteran Karleen Wright as client services director last month.

Artex serves more than 1,500 clients through 1,000-plus captives, cells and specialty programs.
