RIMS Chicago chapter head joins Kite Realty
Indianapolis property investment firm Kite Realty Group has hired Theresa Severson as its risk manager and vice president for insurance.
In her new role, Severson will be responsible for insurance and Theresa Severson for one of the largest publicly traded owners and operators of open-air shopping centres and mixed-use property. She will also oversee its wholly-owned captive insurance company.
President of the Chicago chapter of risk management society RIMS, Severson has over two decades of experience in the industry. She joins Kite after 13 years with real estate investment trust business RPAI Holdco Management. There, she helped build and oversaw an insurance and captive program with $5 billion in total insurable value across 187 locations.
Before that, she served over 16 years with Mesirow Financial and Dann Insurance in Chicago, where she was a senior quality control consultant.
