Rolling on: Trucking captive appoints a new chief underwriting officer

Trucking business captive Brisk Management Services has promoted Mike Kibby to chief underwriting officer.

Kibby has been with the Burlington, North Carolina-based business for over three years and was previously its captive program manager. Before that, he held positions with ZEISS Industrial Metrology and Nucor Steel Marion. He started his career as a nuclear reactor operator with the US Navy.

Formed in 2013, Brisk Management Services formed its flagship group captive program, Tarwheels, in 2015 with three founding members. The same year it formed Brisk Insurance Company (BIC) to provide the risk transfer structure between Tarwheels and The Hartford Insurance Company. BIC redomiciled in North Carolina from Bermuda in 2018.

By the start of 2020, Tarwheels had grown to fifteen members from seven states with fleet sizes ranging from sixty to six-hundred trucks.
