Clifford to head RPS' Michigan self-insured workers' comp programme

Risk Placement Services (RPS), the E&S wholesale broker, managing general agency and programme administrator, has named Joe Clifford as leader of its self-insured workers' compensation programmes in Michigan.

Clifford succeeds Tim Hanna in the role, which is part of RPS’ signature programmes division, following Hanna’s retirement.

Clifford assumes responsibility for the general oversight and management of seven Michigan self-insured funds currently under RPS management. The team manages the largest number of group workers’ compensation funds in the state.

Clifford has spent his entire insurance career in Michigan self-insured workers’ compensation programne administration and has developed years of expertise in each of the primary areas required to effectively manage self-insured group funds.

Chris Leisz, president of RPS signature programmes, said the succession demonstrated Hanna’s success in developing high-caliber experts within the team, calling Clifford “a well-recognised industry leader [who] represents the type of expertise resident within our division to support independent agents and insureds.”
