SRS hires Luis Delgado to build up LatAm business

Strategic Risk Solutions has hired Luis Delgado as vice president for Latin America.

Delgado is based in Bermuda but has responsibility for developing and managing business for Latin American owned captives.

He joins from JLT Insurance Management in Bermuda where he was vice president of finance, in charge of Latin American accounts. He also served as a member of the executive team. Delgado also spent two years with Marsh IAS, having started his career as an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Colombia.

Delgado said: “Captive insurance offers a lot of benefits to Latin American organisations and has been growing steadily in its use. With the changes in the commercial insurance market, the demand for captive insurance solutions and trusted advice has never been stronger in the region.”

Brady Young, president of SRS, said Latin America is strategically important to SRS as it expands its global operations. “We believe it is an underserved market for captive insurance with an absence of independent management options,” said Young. “We are building out our servicing teams with Spanish speaking qualified accountants with captive insurance experience.”
