Upson joins Robus in Guernsey to lead its PCC

Justin Upson has joined Robus as a director of the Guernsey office.

Upson leads Robus’ protected cell company (PCC) as well as taking on operational responsibilities for a number of captives and commercial insurance companies.

Upson has worked in the Guernsey finance industry for 30 years, predominantly working in finance related roles, having spent 19 years at Aon Insurance Managers in Guernsey. Before that he worked for Coutts Private Bank where he was financial controller for Coutts Offshore Europe.

He has managed captives and protected cell companies in a range of industries, including banking and finance, accounting, transportation, pharmaceutical manufacturing, beverage manufacturing and distribution, insurance and investment and bloodstock.

In his new role he is responsible for all aspects of his clients business, including finance and administration, company secretarial and insurance, including programme design, solvency, claims handling, reserving, policy documentation and reinsurance contract wordings.

He is also responsible for the regulation and corporate governance of the client companies that he leads.
