VCIA's annual captive taxation webinar to unlock tax insights
The Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) is to hold its annual captive taxation webinar on December 12, 2023.
According to the VCIA the event will feature a number of captive tax specialists reviewing current tax issues through a case study examining a multinational organisation’s considerations when proposing to form a captive insurance company domiciled in Vermont.
“This year’s session reviews the federal tax building blocks required for captive insurance company tax treatment and expands to include the implications of a worldwide organisation,” said the VCIA in a statement.
“Session highlights will include an overview of state and federal tax considerations of insuring US risks, as well as the implications on international operations and structure. Our panellists will include an analysis of the tax principles when evaluating the formation and operation of a captive insurance company. Our tax specialists will also navigate the various issues impacting worldwide organisations looking to finance risk through a US based captive insurance company.”
For the first time at the event the VCIA will include an Open Forum allowing attendees the opportunity to ask questions directly to the panellists, on any topic.
The VCIA said that after completing this webinar, participants will be able to:
• Identify the key qualifications for insurance company tax treatment of a captive.
• Cite key facts relevant to federal and state tax considerations.
• Identify potential opportunities and challenges presented to captives owned by worldwide organisations.
