Willis Towers Watson appoints Lesley Thompson to lead Cayman office


Lesley Thompson has been named as leader of Willis Towers Watson’s Cayman office.

She brings over 20 years insurance management experience to the role, having served in multiple jurisdictions, both on and offshore, over the course of her career. She spent five years with Aon in Bermuda, before moving to the Cayman Islands in 2005, where she has worked with multi-jurisdictional independent captive managers. For the past four years she has led the insurance management services of the Maples Group. She has also worked at Atlas.

Thompson is a chartered management accountant, a fellow of captive insurance and an accredited director, and the current president of the International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE). She has worked with single parent, association, group, agency, not-for-profit and rent-a-captives, as well as in private placement life and annuity, segregated portfolio companies, insurance linked securities, side-cars and special purpose vehicles.

The appointment is subject to the requisite regulatory approvals.
