Hawaii enjoys steady captive growth
Seven new captives were formed in Hawaii in the first three quarters of 2014 bringing the total number of captives located on the domicile to 186.
Five captives also closed during the period meaning the domicile enjoyed a net increase of two.
The majority of captives in Hawaii are from the US (96 percent), with the other captive’s from Asia-Pacific locations.
Over half of the captive owners operate in the construction/real estate sector, with 33 percent operating in healthcare and 34 percent in telecommunications and manufacturing.
