AM Best to host captive briefing

AM Best is to host an online market briefing on the state of the captive insurance industry.

The briefing, entitled “Captives: Solid Performance and Innovation Continues” will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. (EDT). 

The event will feature a panel of AM Best analytical staff and industry experts as they discuss trends for captives and developments with other alternative risk transfer instruments. They also will examine current market conditions for the captive industry, efficiencies that the captive industry is trying to realise, and noticeable trends in new formations and ART structure types.

Panellists include:

· Joe Martin, senior vice president & captive executive, Captive Resources

· Jo Mather, insurance director, Phillips 66

· Steve McElhiney, senior vice president & global director of reinsurance, Artex Risk Solutions

· Dan Teclaw, director, AM Best
