Former CICA Distinguished Service winner suffers stroke

Thomas Jones, counsel at McDermott Will & Emery (MWE), suffered a stroke earlier this month while on business in South Carolina.

Jones, who has served the captive industry for more than 30 years, received rehabilitation services at the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab and is currently resting at home in Chicago. His family is optimistic that he will recover fully but asked that well-wishers do not call, and instead send cards to Irma Torres at MWE in Chicago, which will be passed on.

Jones serves as curriculum advisor to the International Center for Captive Insurance Education and won the Captive Insurance Companies Association’s 2008 Distinguished Service Award.
