Aon unveils new CCO for Risk Capital

Aon has appointed Jeff Alpaugh (pictured) as chief commercial officer, Risk Capital. Alpaugh will lead Aon’s global commercial strategy across Risk Capital, helping clients align capital, insight and risk solutions as they pursue growth in an increasingly complex market environment.

Alpaugh joined Aon in 2023 as president of North America, where he helped shape regional strategy and execution while advancing enterprise-wide commercial priorities. In his expanded role, he will build on this experience to further align Aon’s Risk Capital capabilities around client needs, particularly for organisations undertaking large‑scale investment and growth initiatives. He will continue to serve as president alongside his new role and will report to Joe Peiser, chief executive of Risk Capital.

Commenting on the appointment, Peiser said, “Jeff is a proven commercial leader with a deep understanding of clients, markets and the role Risk Capital plays in helping organisations grow with confidence. As client needs continue to evolve, Jeff’s ability to connect strategy, execution and investment will be critical to delivering integrated Risk Capital capabilities at scale.”

Alpaugh brings nearly four decades of experience in the insurance and risk management industry. Prior to joining Aon, he spent more than three decades at Marsh, where he held senior leadership roles, focused on driving growth, strengthening client relationships and supporting complex, capital‑intensive organisations.

“I’m excited to take on this role at an important time for clients and our business,” said Alpaugh. “Demand for integrated Risk Capital capabilities continues to grow as organisations navigate more uncertainty and higher‑stakes capital decisions. My priority is to ensure our commercial strategy stays closely aligned to client needs — bringing together insight, expertise and capital to help clients make better decisions and support long‑term, sustainable growth.”
