BDA unveils new executive session at Bermuda Risk Summit 2026
The Bermuda Business Development Agency (BDA) has announced a headline executive session at the Bermuda Risk Summit 2026, bringing together global reinsurance chief executives to examine the evolving state of the market and the strategic decisions shaping its future.
Titled “The State of Reinsurance: Balancing Risk, Returns & Resilience,” the panel will take place on 9 March 2026 from 1:15 pm–2:15 pm.
Moderated by John Huff, president & chief executive of the Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers (ABIR), the discussion will feature Jerome Halgan, chief executive, Arch Re, Ryan Mather, chief executive, Ariel Re, and Kathleen Reardon, chief executive, Hiscox Re.
Against a backdrop of geopolitical uncertainty, inflationary pressures, and increasingly complex weather-related loss activity, the panel will explore how reinsurance leaders are recalibrating underwriting discipline, capital allocation, and risk selection to sustain returns while strengthening global resilience.
Preview coverage described last year’s chief executive discussion as a “powerhouse” panel of global leaders, and the session went on to draw strong delegate engagement and industry-media attention. In response, Bermuda Risk Summit is bringing the executive format back in 2026 to continue the leadership-level conversation on risk, capital, and long-term market resilience.
“This is a pivotal period for the reinsurance industry,” said Huff. “Leaders are navigating a more complex risk environment while maintaining discipline and delivering sustainable returns. Bermuda continues to play a central role in that equation as a jurisdiction that connects global capital with risk under a framework of strong supervision and transparency.”
“Bermuda Risk Summit is designed to create space for informed, forward-looking discussion at the highest levels,” said Kendaree Burgess, managing director, BDA. “The CEOs joining this session represent companies building the market’s next phase. Their perspectives are essential to understanding how the industry is evolving and where opportunities for growth and resilience lie.”
