BPS unveils new board chairman

South Carolina-based accounting and consulting firm Bauknight Pietras & Stormer (BPS) has announced the appointment of Bryan Hudson (pictured) as the firm’s new chairman of the board. 

BPS said that with his extensive leadership experience and deep industry knowledge, Hudson brings a wealth of expertise to the role. He will lead the board in guiding the company’s strategic vision, supporting its continued growth, and ensuring long-term value for shareholders and stakeholders alike. 

Hudson succeeds Chris Stormer, who served a three-year term as Chairman. This will be Hudson’s second three- year term as Chairman.

Bryan’s vision and commitment to excellence will be instrumental in shaping the firm’s future.”

Hudson previously served as chairman of the board of directors of the South Carolina Captive Insurance Association and on the board of directors of the International Center of Captive Insurance Education based in Vermont. 

Hudson is an active member of captive insurance associations in South Carolina, North Carolina, Delaware, Tennessee, and Vermont as well as the Captive Insurance Companies Association.

Hudson stated, “I look forward to working closely with the Board and management team to build on the Firm’s success and pursue new opportunities that will create lasting value for our clients, shareholders, and the communities we serve.” 

A BPS shareholder since 2013, Hudson joined the firm in 1999 and currently leads the firm’s property and casualty insurance practice, which serves regional and national clients that include commercial carriers, mutual insurers, captive insurance, reciprocals, and risk retention groups domiciled throughout the United States. Hudson consults on a national basis with clients considering establishing captive insurance companies on the issues of feasibility, formation, operations, and governance.
