Captive International marks 40 Years of VCIA with special anniversary edition

Captive International and the Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) have celebrated the 40th anniversary of the VCIAs annual conference with a commemorative edition of the magazine

The edition is a print and digital issue entirely devoted to the VCIA, its history, its accomplishments over its 40-year existence since its founding in 1985 and its three-pillar strategic plan that it has unrolled this year.

It also contains an interview with the outgoing head of the VCIA, Kevin Mead, as well as details of VCIA’s new AI system, as well as a look at past conferences by veteran members of the captive insurance industry.

Captive International has worked on similar projects with high-profile captive organisations in the past, including CICA and ICCIE, to produce high-quality publications that celebrated their respective anniversaries of their founding.

“I am delighted that VCIA selected us as their partner for this very special event, their 40th anniversary,” said Captive International publisher David Ryan. “This issue is a true celebration of the history, achievements and most importantly, the people whose hard work and dedication have elevated them to their position as a pre-eminent global captive domicile. We look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the years to come and celebrating with them at their annual conference next month.”

The publication is now live on our website and physical copies will be handed out at the VCIA’s 2025 annual conference in Burlington, Vermont in August.

This year the VCIA has already unveiled a new website and will be holding at least one roadshow to highlight the benefits that captives can have as an insurance option. For more information contact the VCIA.
