Captive lawyer named to regulatory federation
A top Delaware captive insurance lawyer has been named as an Associate Regulatory Counsel Member of the Federation of Regulatory Counsel (FORC).
Richards, Layton & Finger attorney Edward S Little had to pass a rigorous vetting and interview process and meet a number of benchmarks before being chosen as a counsel member of FORC, which is a national association of attorneys specialised in insurance regulatory law whose mission is to raise and uphold the standard of excellence in the practice of regulatory law.
“FORC sets a high bar for becoming a member, and I’m very proud to congratulate Ed on this wonderful achievement,” said Lisa Schmidt, president of Richards Layton. “Throughout his years of experience in insurance regulatory law, Ed has demonstrated the hard work, high standards, and expertise that have earned him this great honour.”
Little's practice is focused on commercial transactions and insurance regulatory matters. His insurance regulatory practice involves advising US insurance companies doing business in Delaware regarding compliance with the Delaware Insurance Code. His expertise includes the formation and operation of insurance companies and captives, change of control transactions, insurance holding company system registrations, and regulated investment activities. He also serves on the board of directors of the Delaware Captive Insurance Association. He has been chosen as a Delaware Today Top Lawyer for four consecutive years.
He also serves as secretary of the Delaware State Bar Association Commercial Law Section, which is responsible for proposing legislation involving Delaware statutory trusts, the Uniform Commercial Code, and banking.
