
Former Barclays captive director moves to Lloyd’s
Daniel Sims has been appointed director, head of captive insurance atLloyd’s Banking Group.
According to Richard Askey managing director, insurance, at Lloyds
Banking Group , Sims brings over 25 years’ experience across Barclays and
RBS, with a strong track record of building and scaling client relationships.
Askey added that most recently, Sims established Barclays’ captive
insurance platform in London, developing it from the ground up and
building a high-quality global network across the sector.
“A proven relationship-builder with a consistent record of delivering
growth, this is a fantastic hire for us as we continue to strengthen our
capabilities in this space,” Askey said in a statement on LinkedIn.
Sims commented: “Very excited to be joining Lloyds Banking Group today
as Head of Captive Insurance. Thank you to everyone I’ve met so far for
making me feel so welcome — I’m looking forward to everything ahead
and to working together on what comes next.”
Sims worked for Barclays Investment Bank for almost nine years, with his
final position at the company being relationship director - captive
insurance at Barclays Investment Bank, based in London.
