Full agenda available for WRCIC 2024

The organisers of the Western Region Captive Insurance Conference (WRCIC) have announced that the plans for the 2024 meeting are complete and that the entire program can be viewed on the conference website.

The conference is scheduled to take place from April 15 to 17, 2024 at The Tulsa Club Curio Collection by Hilton in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The conference will include three commissioners from the Western Region Captive Insurance Conference. Commissioner Scott Kipper of Nevada, Commissioner Chlora Lindley-Myers of Missouri, and Commissioner Glen Mulready of Oklahoma will collectively take the stage to deliver a fireside chat address to the audience.

“This promises to be an invaluable opportunity for attendees to gain insights directly from these eminent figures in the captive insurance industry,” said the conference organisers in a statement. “Their wealth of knowledge and experience is sure to enlighten and inspire all those in attendance.”

The organisers have added a second keynote for day two to the lineup, Mike Breeze, author of "Beyond S.M.A.R.T., In Business, Success Happens from Achieving Goals, not just setting them."

There will be an entry level session on Monday afternoon, Captives 101, which is designed for those who are new to, or considering a captive.

Renea Louie, chairwoman of WRCIC from Pro Group Captive Management Services, expressed her excitement about this year's conference. She said: “We are so proud of how the conference is coming together this year. Tulsa is proving to be an excellent host, allowing us to create a unique and special experience for our attendees.”

This year, delegates will be treated to an evening at the Philbrook Art Museum and gardens, where a special cultural performance will be led by Yancy Red Corn. Corn is best known for his work on the Emmy nominated film, Killers of the Flower Moon (2023), and is an Osage Native American.

Continuing Education Credits will be available for many sessions, provided by The International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE), CLE, and CEU.

The conference provides a unique platform for professionals to collaborate, share ideas, discuss challenges, and gain insights into the captive insurance industry, said the organisers. Whether attendees are newcomers or veterans, insurance executives, captive owners, insurance professionals, brokers, regulators, or students, the conference offers something for everyone.

In addition, state board and membership meetings will be held onsite for all WRCIC host states, allowing each state within the WRCIC to conduct its own annual board and membership meetings throughout the week.
