Gallo begins new chapter with launch of Core Risk Solutions
CIC Services has announced that Christopher Gallo will transition from his role as managing director after six years with the firm to pursue an independent captive insurance consulting venture, Core Risk Solutions.
“I am very blessed for having the opportunity to work with CIC Services, as their problem-solving, corporate governance, ingenuity and integrity are second to none. It has been stated that success has many authors, as evidenced by being a part of forming state-of-the-art captives covering risks such as a carbon footprint, stranded asset and title insurance in addition to insuring third-party risks. I intend to utilize CIC Services as captive manager for all such future captive formations,” Gallo stated.
Gallo brings more than 40 years of experience in insurance regulation and captive insurance oversight to his new endeavour. During his time at CIC Services, he contributed to client engagements grounded in the firm’s disciplined approach to captive insurance, with a focus on regulatory substance, documentation and sustainable liquidity.
Before joining CIC Services, Gallo built a 35-year regulatory career with the State of Connecticut’s Financial Regulation Division. He progressed from trainee to insurance-accredited financial examiner and earned his Certified Financial Examiner (CFE) designation in 2012. His regulatory experience included a rotation with the Swiss Financial Markets Supervisory Authority in Bern, Switzerland, and a presentation to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ Roundtable Forum in April 2013. He also led a supervisory college panel and discussion with regulators from the Dutch National Bank.
In 2013, Gallo transferred to Connecticut’s newly formed Captive Division, reporting directly to the division director. There, he helped devise and present true risk-based captive legislation to the governor’s office and industry stakeholders, constructed the division’s true risk-based examination process, served as examiner in charge for reports of examination and oversaw the division’s NAIC self-evaluation guide, interim annual reviews and accreditation reviews. He joined CIC Services in 2019, bringing his regulatory perspective to a firm recognized for its emphasis on properly structured captive programs and long-term risk discipline.
