Giuffre rises to president at USQRisk

USQRisk, a managing general underwriter within Ryan Alternative Risk, a division of Ryan Specialty, has promoted Chris Giuffre (pictured)to president of USQRisk effective immediately.

With this promotion, Michael Zipper relinquishes the title of president but remains co-chief executive of USQRisk alongside Parag Abvishi, co-chief executive and chief underwriting officer.

Giuffre co-founded USQRisk in 2020 bringing significant US and UK experience creating insurtech start-up programs and developing unique insurance and specialty finance solutions. Following USQRisk’s acquisition by Ryan Specialty in May 2025, Giuffre served as USQRisk’s chief strategy officer and coordinated the integration of USQRisk’s operations into Ryan Specialty.

As President, Giuffre will continue to lead USQRisk’s fronting and capital solutions business, applying insurance as an alternative in the place of traditional financial products to create capital efficiencies for clients.

Commenting on the promotion, Michael Zipper said, “Chris’ proven leadership skills and market presence make him ideal for the role of president as we expand our executive leadership team to meet the growing demand for structured insurance and reinsurance, capital solutions, and fronting risk. Chris’ experience developing unique programs and convergence products align with our growth strategy to affirm our position as a leading alternative risk transfer underwriter.”

Giuffre remarked, “I’m honoured to step into this expanded role as president of USQRisk. Since our founding, we have built the business on strong technical and operational expertise, while remaining entrepreneurial in pursuing new opportunities. I look forward to working with our leadership team to build on that foundation, uphold the high standards that define our business, and continue expanding our alternative risk transfer capabilities.”
