HDI Global France marks 25 Years with record premium growth
HDI Global France is celebrating 25 years in the French corporate insurance market. To mark the anniversary, the insurer announced that it has surpassed EUR 800 million in gross written premiums in 2025 and now employs more than 220 people.
HDI Global supports 39 CAC 40 companies through its French branch and manages 40 captive-related programmes. With operations in Paris and Lyon, HDI Global France has grown by more than 68% over the past four years, driven by portfolio diversification and new areas of expertise.
Since its establishment in 2001, HDI Global France has expanded its scope of activities to support clients, including the rollout of captive programmes, the creation of new underwriting lines and the launch of new areas of expertise such as Financial Lines, Cyber, Affinity, and ESG. Jean-Marie Haquette, managing director of HDI Global France, said: “These milestones were only possible thanks to a close, rigorous dialogue between our highly specialised teams and our clients and brokers. This partnership remains the cornerstone that enables us to innovate and, through think-tank initiatives such as the Captive Lab and the Claims Lab, to identify new opportunities for improvement.”
In 2022, HDI Global established its global centre of excellence dedicated to Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) in Paris. The centre offers cutting edge solutions such as virtual captives and protection structures for traditional captives.
HDI Global France is a worldwide leading insurer for International Programmes, driven by extensive expertise in risk prevention and complex claims management; and for captive services, helping companies to sustain and secure the self-financing of risks. The capabilities developed for large corporate clients are helping to facilitate access to risk financing solutions for the mid-sized corporate segment, a growing focus for HDI in France. The establishment of a sustainable presence in this sector is also supported by dedicated offerings, such as those aimed at the life sciences sector.
HDI Global France has been ranked number one and named the preferred insurer by risk managers in the Golder & Partners 2025/2026 barometer. This ranking acknowledged the expertise, close relationships, and long-term client support, underpinning the company’s vision to act as the preferred Partner in Transformation. Looking ahead, HDI Global France aims to further strengthen its long‑term client partnerships. To this, HDI will continue remaining a benchmark for client experience, consolidating its position as a leading player in captive programmes, and supporting businesses in strengthening their resilience, particularly in the context of the energy and power transition.
