HDI unveils new MD for France

HDI Global (HDI) has announced the appointment of Delphine Leroy (pictured) as managing director France. She will assume the role effective 1 January 2027.

She succeeds Jean-Marie Haquette, who will retire after a successful career spanning nearly four decades in the insurance and reinsurance industry. This announcement is subject to regulatory approval.

HDI said that Leroy brings nearly 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and has held senior leadership positions with international insurers. Most recently, she served as general manager France at QBE. Previously, she was managing director France and head of South Europe at CNA Hardy. Throughout her career, she has held leadership roles across underwriting, distribution, risk management and executive management.

David Hullin, member of the HDI Global SE Executive Board, responsible for international regions (without DACH and USA) and Multinational Programmes, said: “I would like to thank Jean-Marie for his outstanding contribution to HDI Global France and for the strong foundation he has built. Under his leadership, our French operations have further strengthened their position in a strategically important market. I am delighted to welcome Delphine to HDI Global. Her deep market expertise, leadership experience and strong client and broker focus make her ideally positioned to shape our business in France. Together with our experienced team, she will further strengthen our role as a trusted Partner in Transformation for clients and brokers.”

Haquette has served as managing director of HDI Global France since September 2022. During his tenure, HDI Global France expanded its capabilities across several business areas, strengthened its position as a one-stop-shop partner for clients and further enhanced its operational excellence and claims capabilities. Prior to joining HDI, he held senior positions with international insurance and reinsurance companies.

Haquette, commenting on his retirement, said: "I am proud to hand over a strong business with an excellent team, trusted client and broker relationships, and a strong position in the French market. This transition reflects the stability and long-term commitment that define our company. I am confident that the business is well positioned to continue its successful development, and that Delphine’s strong leadership will be instrumental in advancing our transformation journey."

Leroy added: "Throughout my career, I have seen that sustainable success is built by talented people working together with a shared purpose. HDI Global has established a strong position in the French market, and I look forward to working with our teams, clients, and broker partners to build on this success and support their transformation ambitions."
