Iowa DIFS hires new legal counsel for captives

Cheryl Critelli has been hired by the Iowa Department of Insurance & Financial Services as a captive insurance legal counsel.

She was previously attorney/of counsel for Nyemaster Goode from September 2024 to January 2025 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Prior to that she was associate chief counsel at John Deere Financial from 2002 until July 2024 in Johnston, Iowa. There she was a business partner to the director of the risk management department as they made strategic decisions to place and manage insurance policies for Deere globally. She was also a key team member in establishing insurance programs worldwide.

She was previously assistant vice president and legal counsel at Allied Insurance from 1988 to 2000.
