Lockton NZ appoints Peter Lowe as CEO
Lockton has appointed Peter Lowe as chief executive officer of its New Zealand business. He previously led Willis Towers Watson’s practice in the country.
The world’s largest privately-held insurance brokerage, Lockton launched its New Zealand business in September, with key hires including Jessica Schade, another WTW veteran, as head of captive and alternative risk transfer (ART).
Lowe brings yet more ART expertise. A qualified Chartered Accountant, he has established about 100 captives, as well as having experience in reinsurance design and managing large global insurance programmes, including the structure and placement of risk financing programmes. He spent over 15 years with WTW and was chairman of its Australasian ART and captive practice before being promoted to CEO.
Lowe was also previously a senior vice president for Marsh, where he spent over 17 years. He is a “champion of risk-led conversations and brings international experience, contacts and understanding to and for the benefit of his clients”, according to Lockton.
“This appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Lockton as we continue to expand our global reach in markets where we know we can make the greatest difference,” said Lockton Australia CEO Paul Marsden. “I look forward to supporting Peter and his team as they fill a gap in the New Zealand corporate space by raising the bar on service levels offered by other brokers.”
Lowe said: “I look forward to empowering our people to provide risk leadership and deliver solutions designed specifically to meet our clients’ needs. It is this client-first approach that will deliver the most innovative, efficient and resilient risk solutions for our clients.”
